Chapter 13: The Chase Begins

ある朝、見張り番が遠くに白い形を見つけた。「潮を吹いたぞ！」と彼は叫び、船は興奮で活気づいた。それはモビー・ディック、私たちが何ヶ月も追い続けてきた白い鯨だった。

One morning, the lookout spotted a white shape in the distance. "There she blows!" he shouted, and the ship came alive with excitement. It was Moby Dick, the white whale we had been hunting for months.

エイハブ船長は小さなボートを水に下ろすよう命じた。これこそが彼が待っていた瞬間、復讐の瞬間だった。彼の顔は決意に満ち、目は激しさで燃えていた。

Captain Ahab ordered the small boats into the water. This was the moment he had been waiting for, the moment of his revenge. His face was determined, his eyes burning with intensity.

I climbed into a boat with Queequeg, my heart racing. We rowed toward the white whale, knowing that this hunt would be more dangerous than any we had faced before. The ocean seemed to hold its breath as we approached.
