Chapter 10: The Skeleton Demon

4人は白虎嶺に到着しました。そこには白骨精（はっこつせい）と呼ばれる悪魔がいました。彼女は三蔵法師の肉を食べれば永遠に生きられると聞き、彼を捕らえたいと思いました。

The four of them arrived at the White Tiger Ridge. There was a demon there called the White Skeleton Demon. She heard that eating Tang Sanzang's flesh could make one live forever, so she wanted to capture him.

白骨精は三蔵法師を騙すために3回人間の姿に変身しました。1回目は食べ物を持ってくる村の娘になり、2回目は娘を探す老婆になり、3回目は家族を探す老人になりました。そのたびに、孫悟空は彼女の変装を見抜き、金の棒で彼女の化身を殺しました。

The White Skeleton Demon transformed into human form three times to deceive Tang Sanzang. The first time, she became a village girl bringing food; the second time, she became an old woman looking for her daughter; the third time, she became an old man looking for his family. Each time, Sun Wukong saw through her disguise and killed her incarnation with his golden rod.

しかし、三蔵法師は普通の人間の目を持っていたので、悪魔の変装を見抜くことができませんでした。代わりに、彼は孫悟空が無実の人々を殺していると思いました。彼は孫悟空を罰するために緊箍児（きんこじ）の呪文を唱え、彼を追い払いたいと思いました。孫悟空は目に涙を浮かべて去り、非常に不当な扱いを受けたと感じました。

However, Tang Sanzang had ordinary human eyes and couldn't see through the demon's disguise. Instead, he thought Sun Wukong was killing innocent people. He recited the Tight Fillet Spell to punish Sun Wukong and wanted to drive him away. Sun Wukong left with tears in his eyes, feeling extremely wronged.
