Chapter 4: Hiding the Loot

ラスコリニコフは盗んだ品物を川のそばの石の下に隠しました。誰かに自分の犯罪がバレるのではないかと恐れ、心臓をドキドキさせながら部屋に戻りました。

Raskolnikov hid the stolen items under a stone by the river. He returned to his room with his heart beating fast, fearing someone would discover his crime.

数日後、警察はこの事件の捜査を始めました。ラスコリニコフはとても緊張していました。警察を見るたびに、彼は彼らがすべてを知っているように感じました。彼は一度自首することも考えましたが、結局勇気がありませんでした。

A few days later, the police began to investigate this case. Raskolnikov was very nervous. Every time he saw the police, he felt they knew everything. He even considered surrendering once, but finally didn't have the courage.

この内なる拷問により彼は夜眠れなくなり、体は弱っていきました。彼の精神状態は悪化し始めました。

This inner torture made him sleepless at night, and his body became weaker. His mental state began to deteriorate.
