The Spouter-Inn was a strange and mysterious place. The walls were covered with old paintings of whales and sailors, and the furniture was worn and dark. It felt like a place where many stories had been told and many journeys had begun.

I met Queequeg that evening. He was a dark-skinned man with tattoos covering his body and a small wooden statue of his god that he carried with him everywhere. Despite his strange appearance, he had a kind and honest face.
