第十一章：社会的不公
In the late years of the Qing Dynasty, social injustice was very severe. The wealthy and the powerful enjoyed privileges, while the poor endured endless suffering. This injustice intensified social contradictions and triggered various social problems.
清朝末年，社会不公非常严重。富人和权贵享受着特权，而穷人则承受着无尽的苦难。这种不公让社会矛盾激化，引发了各种社会问题。
During his journey, Lao Can saw various aspects of social injustice. The wealthy lived in luxurious mansions and enjoyed lavish lives, while the poor lived in humble houses and struggled for survival.
老残在旅途中看到了社会不公的方方面面。富人住在豪华的府邸，享受着奢华的生活，而穷人则住在简陋的房屋中，为生存而挣扎。
The inequality of educational resources further widened the gap between the rich and the poor. The children of the wealthy could receive good education, while the children of the poor had no opportunity. This inequality solidified social classes and hindered social mobility.
教育资源的不公让贫富差距进一步扩大。富人的子女可以接受良好的教育，而穷人的子女则没有机会。这种不公让社会阶层固化，阻碍了社会的流动。
The injustice of law also made the poor more despairing. The wealthy and the powerful could escape legal sanctions through money and connections, while the poor often became the victims of law.
法律的不公也让穷人更加绝望。富人和权贵可以通过金钱和关系逃避法律的制裁，而穷人则往往成为法律的牺牲品。
Lao Can recorded these situations. He believed that only by establishing a fair social system could these problems be truly solved. His writings provided important reference for social reform.
