Chapter 11: The Passage of Time
第十一章：时光流逝
I looked at Run Tu, thinking about the passage of time.
我看着闰土，想起时光的流逝。
Twenty years, this is a very long time. Twenty years ago, I was a child, and Run Tu was a child too. We played together, grew up together. Twenty years later today, we have both changed.
二十年，这是一个很长的时间。二十年前，我还是一个孩子，闰土也是一个孩子。我们一起玩耍，一起长大。二十年后的今天，我们都变了。
I studied, took university exams, and found a job in the city. Run Tu stayed in the countryside, got married, had children, and made a living farming. Our fates are completely different.
我读书，考大学，在城里找到了工作。闰土留在农村，结婚生子，种地为生。我们的命运，截然不同。
Run Tu looked at me and said, "Young Master, you are now a learned person, you will surely have a great future."
闰土看着我，说："少爷，你现在是有学问的人了，将来一定有大出息。"
I smiled and said, "What great future, I'm just making a living."
我笑着说："什么大出息，不过是谋生而已。"
He said, "Being able to work in the city is already very good. We farmers spend our whole lives working in the fields, without much of a future."
他说："能在城里工作，已经很好了。我们这些农民，一辈子都在地里干活，也没有什么出息。"
I didn't know what to say, just nodded.
我不知道该说什么，只是点点头。
Time passes, and everyone walks their own path, everyone has their own destiny.
时光流逝，每个人都在走自己的路，每个人都有自己的命运。
