After the battle at Jinshan Temple, Xu Xian managed to escape and made his way back to Hangzhou. He was confused, frightened, and overwhelmed by everything that had happened. As he reached the Broken Bridge, where he had first met Bai Suzhen, he saw her sitting by the water, looking pale and exhausted.

"Suzhen?" he called out softly.
"Kẻ bạc tình! Tỷ tỷ của ta đối tốt với ngươi như vậy, ngươi còn dám bỏ rơi tỷ ấy mà tin lời lão trọc kia!" Tiểu Thanh mắng nhiếc giận dữ.
She looked up, her eyes filling with tears. "Xu Xian! You've come back."
Đúng lúc đó, Hứa Tiên chạy đến, thở hổn hển. Khi thấy tình trạng của Bạch Tố Trinh, chàng quỳ sụp xuống khóc lóc.
Xiaoqing, however, was not as forgiving. She stepped between them, her eyes flashing with anger. "How dare you come back after what you've done? You doubted her, you let that monk control you, and you left her when she needed you most!"
"Nương tử! Ta sai rồi. Ta xin lỗi vì đã hèn nhát và không tin tưởng nàng. Ta đáng chết!" Hứa Tiên than khóc.
"Xiaoqing, please," Bai Suzhen pleaded. "He is here now. That is all that matters."
Tiểu Thanh rút kiếm định chém Hứa Tiên, nhưng Bạch Tố Trinh ngăn lại. "Tiểu Thanh... đừng... chàng là chồng của tỷ... tỷ yêu chàng..."
Xu Xian knelt before his wife. "I am so sorry, Suzhen. I was a coward. I let my fear blind me to the truth of your heart. I saw the flood, and I saw how much you were willing to sacrifice for me. I don't care what you are. I only know that I love you."

Bai Suzhen took him in her arms, and for a moment, the world felt right again. They returned to their home and tried to rebuild their lives. The shop was closed, but they had each other.
