Chapter 19: Arriving at Vulture Peak
Chương 19: Đến Linh Sơn
After overcoming countless hardships and dangers, the four of them finally saw the Vulture Peak. This was the place where the Buddha lived and where Tang Sanzang was to obtain the scriptures.
Sau khi vượt qua vô vàn khó khăn và nguy hiểm, bốn thầy trò cuối cùng cũng nhìn thấy Linh Sơn. Đây là nơi Phật Tổ ngự và là nơi Đường Tam Tạng phải đến thỉnh kinh.
They arrived at the Great Thunder Temple and met the Tathagata Buddha. The Buddha gave them the scriptures, but the two disciples Ananda and Kasyapa who guarded the scriptures demanded that they exchange them for a purple-gold alms bowl. Tang Sanzang hadn't brought any gifts, so he could only give them the alms bowl.
Họ đến Đại Hùng Bảo Điện và gặp Phật Tổ Như Lai. Phật Tổ ban cho họ kinh thư, nhưng hai đệ tử A Nan và Ca Diếp, người canh giữ kinh thư, đòi họ đổi bằng bát vàng tím. Đường Tam Tạng không mang theo quà cáp gì, nên chỉ có thể đưa cho họ chiếc bát vàng.
The four obtained the scriptures and began their journey back. However, after walking for a while, they discovered that the scriptures were actually blank! It turned out that Ananda and Kasyapa wanted to give them wordless scriptures. When the Buddha learned about this, he exchanged them for the true scriptures with words.
Bốn thầy trò nhận kinh thư và bắt đầu hành trình trở về. Tuy nhiên, sau khi đi được một đoạn, họ phát hiện ra rằng kinh thư thực ra là giấy trắng (vô tự kinh)! Hóa ra A Nan và Ca Diếp muốn đưa cho họ kinh không chữ. Khi Phật Tổ biết chuyện, Ngài đã đổi cho họ kinh thật có chữ.
