The battle with Moby Dick was like nothing I had ever experienced. The whale was intelligent, using the ocean to its advantage. It dived deep and resurfaced behind us, it used its tail to create waves that capsized boats.
A batalha com Moby Dick foi como nada que eu alguma vez tivesse experienciado. A baleia era inteligente, usando o oceano a seu favor. Mergulhava fundo e ressurgia atrás de nós, usava a cauda para criar ondas que viravam os barcos.
Harpoons struck the white whale again and again, but Moby Dick seemed unstoppable. It attacked our small boats with incredible power, destroying them one by one. Men were thrown into the water, some never to be seen again.
Arpões atingiram a baleia branca repetidamente, mas Moby Dick parecia imparável. Atacou os nossos pequenos barcos com um poder incrível, destruindo-os um a um. Homens foram atirados para a água, alguns para nunca mais serem vistos.
I saw Captain Ahab in his boat, his harpoon raised, his face fierce with determination. He would not stop until he had his revenge or was destroyed trying.
