We sailed into the vast Pacific Ocean, the largest and deepest ocean in the world. The water stretched endlessly in every direction, and we were truly alone, far from any land.
Navegámos para o vasto Oceano Pacífico, o maior e mais profundo oceano do mundo. A água estendia-se infinitamente em todas as direções e estávamos verdadeiramente sós, longe de qualquer terra.
The Pacific was beautiful but also dangerous. The weather could change suddenly, and the waves were larger and more powerful than in other oceans. We had to be constantly alert and prepared for anything.
O Pacífico era belo mas também perigoso. O tempo podia mudar subitamente e as ondas eram maiores e mais poderosas do que noutros oceanos. Tínhamos de estar constantemente alerta e preparados para tudo.
During our time in the Pacific, we saw many whales and had some successful hunts. But with each success, I could feel Captain Ahab's focus narrowing, his eyes always searching the horizon for signs of Moby Dick.
Durante o nosso tempo no Pacífico, vimos muitas baleias e tivemos algumas caçadas bem-sucedidas. Mas a cada sucesso, eu conseguia sentir o foco do Capitão Ahab a estreitar-se, os seus olhos sempre a perscrutar o horizonte à procura de sinais de Moby Dick.
