Raskolnikov heard about a pawnbroker's news. This pawnbroker was an old woman who was greedy and harsh to people who borrowed money. Raskolnikov believed that killing this old woman and taking her money could help many poor people.
Raskólnikov ouviu falar de uma velha agiota. Essa agiota era uma mulher gananciosa e dura com as pessoas que pediam dinheiro emprestado. Raskólnikov acreditava que matar essa velha e pegar seu dinheiro poderia ajudar muitas pessoas pobres.
