Raskolnikov was a poor young man living in St. Petersburg. He lived in a small, shabby room and lived in very difficult conditions. Although he used to be a university student, he had to drop out because he couldn't afford tuition.
Raskólnikov era um jovem pobre que vivia em São Petersburgo. Ele morava em um quarto pequeno e miserável, em condições muito difíceis. Embora antes fosse estudante universitário, ele teve que abandonar os estudos porque não podia pagar as mensalidades.
Raskolnikov spent his days thinking alone, feeling angry about the wealth gap in society. He believed that some people's lives had no value, while others could change the world.
