He immediately returned to Flower-Fruit Mountain and declared himself the "Great Sage Equal to Heaven." The Jade Emperor was furious and sent 100,000 heavenly soldiers and generals to capture Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong was not afraid at all. He waved his golden rod and fought fiercely with the heavenly troops. His magical powers were great, and he defeated all the heavenly gods, even reaching the South Gate of Heaven. The Jade Emperor had no choice but to officially title Sun Wukong the "Great Sage Equal to Heaven" and let him manage the Peach Garden.
Sun Wukong não teve medo algum. Ele brandiu seu bastão dourado e lutou ferozmente contra as tropas celestiais. Seus poderes mágicos eram grandes, e ele derrotou todos os deuses celestiais, chegando até o Portão Sul do Céu.
