One day, Heathcliff lured Cathy to Wuthering Heights. He locked her in a room and refused to let her leave until she married Linton.
어느 날 히스클리프는 캐시를 폭풍의 언덕으로 유인했다. 그는 그녀를 방에 가두고 그녀가 린턴과 결혼할 때까지 내보내기를 거부했다.
'Your father is dying,' Heathcliff told her cruelly. 'If you do not marry my son, you will never see him again.'
"네 아비는 죽어가고 있다." 히스클리프는 잔인하게 그녀에게 말했다. "만약 내 아들과 결혼하지 않으면 다시는 그를 보지 못할 것이다."
Cathy was terrified. She did not love Linton and did not want to marry him, but she could not bear the thought of never seeing her father again. She agreed to the marriage.

The ceremony took place quickly, with no family or friends present. Cathy felt trapped and hopeless. She was now married to a man she did not love, in a house where she was a prisoner.
식은 가족도 친구도 없는 가운데 곧바로 진행되었다. 캐시는 함정에 빠진 듯한 절망적인 기분이었다. 그녀는 이제 사랑하지 않는 남자와 결혼해 죄수로서 그 집에 있었다.
When the marriage was complete, Heathcliff allowed Cathy to visit her father one last time. She rushed to Thrushcross Grange, arriving just in time to say goodbye to Edgar.
결혼이 완료되자 히스클리프는 캐시가 마지막으로 한 번 더 아버지를 방문하는 것을 허락했다. 그녀는 드러시크로스 그레인지로 서둘러 갔고, 에드거에게 작별 인사를 하기에 딱 맞춰 도착했다.
Edgar was heartbroken to learn of the marriage, but he was too weak to protest. He died a few hours later, holding Cathy's hand.
에드거는 결혼 사실을 알고 마음 아파했지만 항의하기에는 너무 약해져 있었다. 그는 몇 시간 후 캐시의 손을 잡은 채 숨을 거두었다.
With Edgar's death, Heathcliff became the owner of Thrushcross Grange. Cathy, as Linton's wife, had no legal right to the house. Heathcliff had won at last. He had taken revenge on Edgar and Hindley, and he now owned everything that had once belonged to their families.
에드거의 죽음으로 히스클리프는 드러시크로스 그레인지의 소유자가 되었다. 캐시는 린턴의 아내로서 그 집에 대한 법적 권리를 아무것도 갖지 못했다. 히스클리프는 마침내 승리한 것이다. 그는 에드거와 힌들리에게 복수했고, 한때 그들 가족의 것이었던 모든 것을 소유하게 되었다.
Cathy was left alone in the world. Her husband was weak and selfish, and her father was dead. She had no home of her own and no money. She was forced to live at Wuthering Heights with Heathcliff, Linton, and Hareton.
캐시는 세상에 홀로 남겨졌다. 남편은 약하고 이기적이며 아버지는 죽었다. 그녀에게는 자신의 집도 돈도 없었다. 그녀는 히스클리프, 린턴, 헤어턴과 함께 폭풍의 언덕에서 살 수밖에 없었다.
Mrs. Dean, the housekeeper, followed Cathy to Wuthering Heights, not wanting to leave the young girl alone. She tried to protect Cathy from Heathcliff's cruelty and to comfort her in her grief.
가정부 딘 부인은 어린 아가씨를 혼자 두고 싶지 않아 캐시를 따라 폭풍의 언덕으로 갔다. 그녀는 캐시를 히스클리프의 잔인함으로부터 보호하고 그녀의 슬픔을 위로하려 했다.
At Wuthering Heights, Hareton saw how sad Cathy was and tried to be kind to her. He brought her food and firewood, and he tried to talk to her. At first, Cathy was too proud to speak to him, but gradually, she began to see that he was different from his father. He had a good heart, despite his rough manners.
폭풍의 언덕에서 헤어턴은 캐시가 얼마나 슬퍼하는지 보고 그녀에게 친절하게 대하려 했다. 그는 그녀에게 음식이나 장작을 가져다주고 말을 걸려 했다. 처음에 캐시는 너무 자존심이 강해 그와 말하려 하지 않았지만, 서서히 그가 그의 아버지와는 다르다는 것을 알게 되었다. 거친 태도에도 불구하고 그는 좋은 마음씨를 가지고 있었다.
