제4장: 손책, 강동을 점거하다
Sun Ce was the eldest son of Sun Jian and inherited his father's dying wish. Young and capable, brave and skilled in battle, he was known as the "Little Conqueror." His father Sun Jian died in battle against Liu Biao, and Sun Ce was determined to avenge his father.
손책은 손견의 장남으로 아버지의 유지를 계승했다. 젊고 유능하며 용감하고 전투에 능해 "소패왕"으로 불렸다. 그의 아버지 손견은 유표와의 전투에서 전사했고, 손책은 아버지의 복수를 결심했다.
Sun Ce led his army across the Yangtze River, conquering the six commanderies of Jiangdong. He employed wise and talented people, such as Zhou Yu and Lu Su, building powerful political and military forces. Jiangdong became the base of the Sun family.
손책은 군대를 이끌고 양쯔강을 건너 강동 6군을 정복했다. 그는 주유, 노숙과 같은 현명하고 재능 있는 인재들을 등용하여 강력한 정치 및 군사 세력을 구축했다. 강동은 손씨 가문의 기반이 되었다.
Sun Ce not only achieved success militarily but also demonstrated exceptional political abilities. He reduced taxes and treated the people well, winning the love and support of the people of Jiangdong.
손책은 군사적으로 성공을 거두었을 뿐만 아니라 뛰어난 정치적 능력도 보여주었다. 그는 세금을 줄이고 백성들을 잘 대우하여 강동 백성들의 사랑과 지지를 얻었다.
However, Sun Ce's untimely death at a young age was regrettable. During a hunt, he was assassinated by an enemy's agent, at only twenty-six years old. His death plunged Jiangdong into temporary chaos.
그러나 손책이 젊은 나이에 요절한 것은 안타까운 일이었다. 사냥 중에 적의 자객에게 암살당해 불과 26세의 나이로 세상을 떠났다. 그의 죽음은 강동을 일시적인 혼란에 빠뜨렸다.
Before his death, Sun Ce entrusted his great undertaking to his younger brother Sun Quan. He instructed Sun Quan to treat talented people well, consolidate Jiangdong's foundation, and not be rash or impetuous. These last words became important guidance for Sun Quan.
죽기 전에 손책은 자신의 대업을 동생 손권에게 맡겼다. 그는 손권에게 인재를 잘 대우하고 강동의 기반을 굳건히 하며 경솔하거나 성급하지 말라고 지시했다. 이 유언은 손권에게 중요한 지침이 되었다.
Sun Quan inherited his brother's cause. Although young, he demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities. He continued to recruit talented people and consolidate Jiangdong's rule, laying the foundation for the later Battle of Red Cliffs.
손권은 형의 대업을 계승했다. 비록 젊었지만 그는 뛰어난 지도력을 보여주었다. 그는 계속해서 인재를 모집하고 강동의 통치를 공고히 하여 훗날 적벽대전의 기초를 닦았다.
