Chapter 1: The Stone Monkey
제1장: 돌원숭이
On the eastern coast of the East Sea, there was a mountain called Flower-Fruit Mountain. On the mountain stood a giant magical rock that absorbed the essence of heaven and earth day after day. Suddenly, one day, the rock cracked open, and a stone monkey jumped out!
동해의 동쪽 해안에 화과산이라는 산이 있었습니다. 산 꼭대기에는 거대한 신비한 바위가 있었는데, 매일 하늘과 땅의 정기를 흡수했습니다. 어느 날 갑자기 바위가 갈라지더니 돌원숭이 한 마리가 튀어 나왔습니다!
The monkey was lively and active, jumping and playing among the mountains. He soon found a group of monkeys and became friends with them. One day, the monkeys were playing by a mountain stream when they saw a waterfall pouring down from a high cliff.
원숭이는 활기차고 활동적이었으며 산속을 뛰어다니며 놀았습니다. 그는 곧 원숭이 무리를 발견하고 그들과 친구가 되었습니다. 어느 날, 원숭이들이 산 계곡에서 놀고 있는데 높은 절벽에서 쏟아지는 폭포를 보았습니다.
"Whoever dares to jump through this waterfall, we will make him our king!" an older monkey shouted loudly.
"누구든지 저 폭포를 뚫고 들어가는 자를 우리의 왕으로 모시겠다!" 늙은 원숭이가 큰 소리로 외쳤습니다.
Without hesitation, the stone monkey leaped into the waterfall. To his surprise, behind the waterfall was a beautiful cave! There were stone tables and chairs, as well as various fruits and flowers. The stone monkey excitedly ran out to tell the other monkeys. They all jumped into the cave one after another and indeed discovered an excellent home.
망설임 없이 돌원숭이는 폭포 속으로 뛰어들었습니다. 놀랍게도 폭포 뒤에는 아름다운 동굴이 있었습니다! 돌 탁자와 의자, 그리고 각종 과일과 꽃들이 있었습니다. 돌원숭이는 신이 나서 밖으로 나가 다른 원숭이들에게 알렸습니다. 그들은 모두 차례로 동굴로 뛰어들었고 정말로 훌륭한 보금자리를 발견했습니다.
From then on, the stone monkey became the Monkey King of Flower-Fruit Mountain. He played with the monkeys every day, living a happy and free life.
그때부터 돌원숭이는 화과산의 원숭이 왕이 되었습니다. 그는 매일 원숭이들과 놀며 행복하고 자유로운 삶을 살았습니다.
