Chapter 10: Childhood Playmates
제10장: 어린 시절 놀이 친구들
Besides Run Tu, I had other childhood playmates too.
룬투 외에도 나에게는 다른 어린 시절 놀이 친구들이 있었다.
There was a child named Little Bao who lived next door to us. He was two years younger than me but very smart. We went to school together, played games together. He always had many new ideas and led us in playing various games.
우리 옆집에 사는 리틀 바오라는 아이가 있었다. 그는 나보다 두 살 어렸지만 매우 똑똑했다. 우리는 함께 학교에 갔고, 함께 게임을 했다. 그는 항상 많은 새로운 아이디어를 가지고 있었고 다양한 게임에서 우리를 이끌었다.
There was also a child named A Niu who was very strong and could lift very heavy stones. We competed to lift stones, and he always won. I envied him, hoping I could be as strong as him too.
아 니우라는 아이도 있었는데 그는 매우 힘이 세서 아주 무거운 돌을 들어 올릴 수 있었다. 우리는 돌 들어 올리기 시합을 했고, 그는 항상 이겼다. 나는 그를 부러워했고, 나도 그처럼 힘이 세질 수 있기를 바랐다.
We often went fishing by the river together, went picking fruit on the mountain together, and caught dragonflies in the fields together. Our lives were full of happiness, without any worries.
우리는 자주 강가에 함께 낚시하러 갔고, 산에 함께 과일을 따러 갔으며, 들판에서 함께 잠자리를 잡았다. 우리의 삶은 행복으로 가득 찼고, 아무런 걱정이 없었다.
Now, where have these friends gone? Little Bao went to work in the city, A Niu became a farmer. Their lives are not easy.
지금 이 친구들은 어디로 갔을까? 리틀 바오는 도시로 일하러 갔고, 아 니우는 농부가 되었다. 그들의 삶은 쉽지 않다.
When I think of them, I feel a bit sad.
그들을 생각하면 조금 슬퍼진다.
