Chapter 10: The Day of Trial
第10章：裁判の日
Raskolnikov was brought to court. The judge and jury heard his confession and also listened to his explanation of his criminal motives.
ラスコリニコフは法廷に連れてこられました。裁判官と陪審員は彼の自白を聞き、また彼の犯罪の動機についての説明も聞きました。
Raskolnikov admitted his crime, but he believed that what he did was for a higher goal. However, the court didn't accept his explanation.
ラスコリニコフは自分の犯罪を認めましたが、彼は自分のしたことがより高い目標のためだと信じていました。しかし、法廷は彼の説明を受け入れませんでした。
In the end, Raskolnikov was sentenced to exile in Siberia. He had to leave St. Petersburg and go to a distant place to serve his sentence.
結局、ラスコリニコフはシベリアへの流刑を宣告されました。彼はサンクトペテルブルクを離れ、刑に服するために遠く離れた場所に行かなければなりませんでした。
