第六章：法海の干渉
The fame of Baohe Tang reached the ears of Fahai, a powerful Buddhist monk with the ability to see through spiritual illusions. One day, while walking through the streets of Hangzhou, he passed by the shop and immediately sensed the powerful aura of a thousand-year-old snake spirit.
保和堂の名声は、霊的な幻影を見抜く能力を持つ強力な仏教僧、法海の耳に届きました。ある日、杭州の通りを歩いていると、彼は店の前を通りかかり、千年の蛇の精の強力なオーラを即座に感じ取りました。
"This is not right," Fahai thought to himself, his brow furrowed. "A spirit has no place in the world of men. It is a violation of the natural order."

He waited until Xu Xian was alone one afternoon and approached him. "Young man," Fahai said, his voice deep and commanding. "I see a dark cloud hanging over you. You are in grave danger, though you do not know it."

Xu Xian was taken aback. "Who are you, sir? And what danger do you speak of? My life is full of happiness and blessings."

Fahai looked him in the eye. "The woman you call your wife is not human. She is a snake spirit who has taken human form. She is deceiving you, and her presence will eventually lead to your ruin."
法海は彼の目を見ました。「お前が妻と呼ぶ女性は人間ではない。彼女は人間の姿をした蛇の精だ。彼女はお前を騙しており、彼女の存在はやがてお前の破滅につながるだろう」
Xu Xian laughed, though he felt a sudden chill. "That is impossible! My wife is the kindest, most beautiful soul I have ever known. You must be mistaken, monk."

"I am never mistaken about such things," Fahai replied sternly. "If you do not believe me, wait until the Dragon Boat Festival. Give her realgar wine to drink, and you will see her true form. For your own sake, you must separate from her."
「私はそのようなことについて決して間違えない」と法海は厳しく答えました。「もし私を信じないなら、端午の節句まで待つがいい。彼女に雄黄酒（リアルガーワイン）を飲ませてみろ、そうすれば彼女の正体を見るだろう。自分自身のために、彼女と別れなければならん」
Xu Xian watched the monk walk away, his heart filled with confusion and doubt. He tried to push the thoughts away, telling himself that the monk was simply crazy. But the seeds of suspicion had been planted. He looked at Bai Suzhen that evening, searching her face for any sign of the monster the monk had described. She was as beautiful and loving as ever, making his doubts feel like a betrayal. Still, the monk's warning echoed in his mind, casting a long shadow over their happiness. The upcoming festival, usually a time of joy, now felt like a looming trial.
許仙は僧侶が去っていくのを見送り、心は混乱と疑いで満たされました。彼はその考えを追い払おうとし、あの僧侶は単に頭がおかしいのだと自分に言い聞かせました。しかし、疑念の種は蒔かれてしまいました。彼はその晩、白素貞を見て、僧侶が説明した怪物の兆候を彼女の顔に探しました。彼女は相変わらず美しく愛情深く、彼の疑いを裏切りのように感じさせました。それでも、僧侶の警告は彼の心に響き、彼らの幸福に長い影を落としました。通常は喜びの時である来るべき祭りが、今では差し迫った試練のように感じられました。
