As we continued our journey, Captain Ahab spoke more about Moby Dick, the white whale that had taken his leg. This creature was legendary among sailors, known for its intelligence and its habit of attacking ships.
Alors que nous poursuivions notre voyage, le capitaine Achab parlait davantage de Moby Dick, la baleine blanche qui lui avait pris sa jambe. Cette créature était légendaire parmi les marins, connue pour son intelligence et son habitude d'attaquer les navires.
Ahab described the day he lost his leg. The whale had appeared suddenly, destroying his boat and taking his leg with one powerful bite. Since that day, Ahab had lived only for revenge, hunting Moby Dick across every ocean.
Achab a décrit le jour où il a perdu sa jambe. La baleine était apparue soudainement, détruisant son bateau et prenant sa jambe d'une morsure puissante. Depuis ce jour, Achab ne vivait que pour la vengeance, chassant Moby Dick à travers tous les océans.
The crew listened with fascination and fear. Some believed Ahab was mad to chase one whale so far, but others respected his determination. I did not know what to think, but I could feel the tension growing on the ship.
