Sun Ce was the eldest son of Sun Jian and inherited his father's dying wish. Young and capable, brave and skilled in battle, he was known as the "Little Conqueror." His father Sun Jian died in battle against Liu Biao, and Sun Ce was determined to avenge his father.

However, Sun Ce's untimely death at a young age was regrettable. During a hunt, he was assassinated by an enemy's agent, at only twenty-six years old. His death plunged Jiangdong into temporary chaos.

Before his death, Sun Ce entrusted his great undertaking to his younger brother Sun Quan. He instructed Sun Quan to treat talented people well, consolidate Jiangdong's foundation, and not be rash or impetuous. These last words became important guidance for Sun Quan.
Avant sa mort, Sun Ce confia sa grande entreprise à son jeune frère Sun Quan. Il instruisit Sun Quan de bien traiter les gens talentueux, de consolider la fondation du Jiangdong, et de ne pas être téméraire ou impétueux. Ces dernières paroles devinrent une orientation importante pour Sun Quan.
Sun Quan inherited his brother's cause. Although young, he demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities. He continued to recruit talented people and consolidate Jiangdong's rule, laying the foundation for the later Battle of Red Cliffs.
