Sun Wukong wanted to find some good weapons for his monkeys. He came to the Dragon Palace of the East Sea and asked the Dragon King for weapons. The Dragon King took out many weapons, but Sun Wukong felt they were all too light.

Finally, the Dragon King led Sun Wukong to the deep sea, where there was a huge iron pillar weighing 13,500 pounds. This iron pillar was left from ancient times and was called the Golden-Hooped Rod. Sun Wukong tried to pick it up and found that the rod could actually change size according to his will!
Finalmente, el Rey Dragón llevó a Sun Wukong a las profundidades del mar, donde había un enorme pilar de hierro que pesaba 13.500 libras. Sun Wukong was extremely excited. He shrunk the rod to the size of an embroidery needle and hid it in his ear for storage. He said goodbye to the Dragon King and returned to Flower-Fruit Mountain. With this divine weapon, Sun Wukong became even more powerful and became a true hero.
