An adjective describes or modifies a noun or pronoun. It tells us more about size, color, shape, opinion, or origin.

Descriptive Adjective

Describes a quality or characteristic of a noun.

She has a beautiful dress.

The tall man is my teacher.

Comparative & Superlative

Adjectives change form to compare: -er/-est for short adjectives, more/most for longer ones.

She is taller than her brother.

This is the most interesting book.

Possessive Adjective

Shows ownership: my, your, his, her, its, our, their.

This is my book.

Their house is big.

Points out which noun: this, that, these, those.
