What is Mood?
Mood indicates the speaker's attitude toward the action: stating a fact (indicative), giving a command (imperative), or expressing something hypothetical or contrary to fact (subjunctive).

Three Moods

Indicative Mood
States facts, asks questions, or expresses opinions. The most common mood.
The sky is blue.

Imperative Mood
Gives commands, requests, or advice. Uses the base form of the verb; subject "you" is implied.
Be quiet!

Subjunctive Mood
Expresses wishes, hypotheticals, demands, or suggestions. Uses base form (no -s) for all persons, or "were" for all subjects in past subjunctive.
If I were you, I would accept the offer.
If she were not so proud, she would be more agreeable.
