Chapter 11: Starting Over

After Dora's death, I traveled abroad to try to heal from my grief. I visited Switzerland and Italy, where the beautiful scenery and different culture helped distract me from my pain. During my travels, I thought a great deal about my life and my future.

I realized that I had been living in a dream world with Dora, ignoring the practical realities of life. Although I loved her, our marriage was not built on a solid foundation. This realization was painful but necessary for my growth.

When I returned to England after several months, I was a different person. The experiences of the past few years had matured me. I was no longer the innocent young man who had fallen in love with Dora's beauty. I was someone who understood life's complexities and could appreciate deeper, more meaningful relationships.
