Chapter 4: A New Beginning
One day, I decided to escape from the factory and seek help from my great-aunt Betsy Trotwood. She was my father's aunt, whom I had never met. With the hope of a better life, I walked to Dover, where she lived. This long, difficult journey became one of the most important events of my life.
When I arrived at my great-aunt Betsy's cottage, I was exhausted and covered in dust. To my surprise, she welcomed me with unexpected kindness. She listened to my story and decided to help me. This was the beginning of a new chapter in my life. She enrolled me in a proper school where I received a good education.
