Chapter 7: Police Suspicion

Porfiry became suspicious of Raskolnikov. He cleverly asked Raskolnikov some questions, trying to understand his views on the case.

Raskolnikov was very nervous and almost slipped his tongue. But he tried to stay calm and didn't expose his crime.

Although Porfiry suspected Raskolnikov, he didn't have enough evidence. He decided to continue observing and wait for Raskolnikov to reveal his flaw.
