Chapter 7: Open Conflict
At a social event, Vronsky and Anna showed obvious intimacy when dancing. People present began to talk about their relationship, and rumors spread throughout the entire social circle.
Karenin finally faced reality and decided to talk to Anna about their marriage. He told Anna that he noticed her relationship with Vronsky and asked her to stop this inappropriate behavior.
Anna admitted her feelings for Vronsky but said she couldn't control her heart. Karenin was very disappointed; he realized his marriage was already broken.
